FB, Comicon & Pocky Recipe

1) Fruits Basket sticker book coming in June.

2) Comicon plans (when you get back from I-Con).

3) Pocky recipe & photos.

HOW TO MAKE POCKY
Ingredients:

Glico Pretz Roast Biscuit Sticks (http://www.veryasia.com/glprro.html)

(Glico Salad Sticks are non-vegetarian. They have chicken & pork extract in them)
and/or

Italian bread sticks

bittersweet chocolate chips

white chocolate chips

milk chocolate chips
butterscotch

(peanut butter chips don't work)

OR

dipping chocolate*

PLUS

crushed nuts, crushed candy etc.

Lots of paper or plastic tablecloths to cover tables on which you work

wax paper and/or coated paper plates

Melt the chips (microwave works - just stir half way through)

Put the melted chips into a container tall enough to dip in sticks and coat them at least half way up (such as 7 oz hot cups)

Dip the sticks into the chocolate (leaving one end dip-free)

Coat the sticks according to preference

Lay wax paper or coated paper plates to cool

*Make dipping chocolate by mixing 2 T of butter or shortening to 12 oz of melted chips. Makes it easier to dip.

**Do not use extract to flavor chips. Extract causes chocolate to seize.

See fabulous pictures.

BLEACH: THE MOVIE

Viz Media is going to release Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody this summer in theatres, then release it on DVD. The movie is directed by Noriyuki Abe, who directed the TV anime. No word on whether Viz is planning to pick up the second feature movie based on Bleach.

Also, we have an extra copy or two of Fruits Basket 19. Sounds like a raffle prize to me. (Oh, right -- new manga just arrived.)

Okay, Pocky it is. We're making pocky at the next meeting.

Also, whoever has Coscio's GTO bring it in.

And flyers & permission slips for Comicon will be handed out at the next meeting, too.

Anime Planet, pocky

http://www.anime-planet.com/ huh?
As one of my favorite anime characters would say, "Hn." Do I want to know how much time I spend watching anime?
Okay, okay, I'm bookmarking it.
Anyway, on to...Pocky.
I think I've figured out a way to make it. Any interest?

Thanks and more

First, Blackrosevamp, thanks for the very nice review. I think the title you're talking about is Variante. If it is, maybe there are more & we can order them at the next club meeting.

Also, we have a film project ahead. Some of you know about it, but if you don't, well...next club meeting.

Finally, anime (and some manga) that were ordered Long, Long Ago have started to come in.

Oh, and the first episode of Blood+ will be shown at the next meeting (tomorrow night. 6:00 pm)

That's all.

NEW TIME FOR CLUB MANGA

Starting next week, Club Manga will meet on Thursdays @ 6:00 pm instead of Tuesdays. So the next club meeting is THURSDAY JANUARY 31 @ 6:00 pm. (Hint: the cat clocks symbolize the time change.)

Also, a big order of Fruits Basket came in.

Don't forget to stop by the library for hot chocolate on Hot Chocolate Day this Saturday.
Has anyone else besides Katherine read Gakuen Alice? Because I'm not loving it either and TokyoPop is saying it's the next Fruits Basket...
And hello & thanks to Blue for his very insightful reviews, especially of Saiyuki & Bus Gamer.
